According to data from the China Charging Alliance, as of the end of January 2020, there were 531000 public charging piles and 712000 private charging piles built nationwide, with a vehicle to pile ratio of approximately 3.5:1, far below the 1:1 ratio planned in the "Guidelines for the Development of Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure (2015-2020)". According to the "New Energy Vehicle Industry Development Plan (2021-2035)" (draft for comments), by 2025, the sales of new energy vehicles will account for about 25% of the total car sales, and it is conservatively estimated that the sales of new energy vehicles will be around 7 million units. Based on a total of 20 million new energy vehicles and a 1:1 ratio of charging stations, it is estimated that approximately 18.8 million charging stations are needed. It can be seen that China will rapidly develop in the field of new energy vehicles and charging stations in the coming years.
1、 The drawbacks of traditional charging stations for charging new energy vehicles
At present, new energy buses have the highest penetration rate in the public transportation field. Most new energy buses now use charging guns for charging. When buses use charging guns for charging, the maximum charging current does not exceed 250 amperes, and the charging time is relatively long. Moreover, after multiple plugging and unplugging of the charging gun interface with the vehicle, the gap between them becomes larger, resulting in discharge and causing the charging gun to burn out. In the event of such accidents, the charging gun must be replaced, and the maintenance cost is high; On the other hand, each charging operation requires manual operation. When the accessories related to the charging gun are aged or safety measures are not in place, the charging gun head will also be charged, which can easily lead to electric shock safety accidents during use.
2、 Working principle of charging bow
In order to solve the safety hazards and operational complexity caused by traditional charging modes, the charging bow solution has emerged. The charging bow mainly includes a charging pile power module, a control module, and a first wireless transmission module. The public transportation part mainly includes a BMS battery management system and a second wireless transmission module, as shown in the schematic diagram in Figure 2. The similarity with traditional charging stations is that both use charging handshake configuration between the charger and BMS to complete the charging process, while the difference is that the first wireless communication module of the charging bow can be paired with the second wireless communication module in the bus for wireless communication to complete the charging configuration, allowing the charging bow to descend and perform touch charging without manual intervention.
